Full Job Description

The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service offers treatment for children and young people up to the age of 18 for mild to severe emotional and mental health needs. There are 3 multi-disciplinary Community Teams supporting Nottinghamshire along with specialist teams such as Eating Disorders, Head 2 Head, CAMHS Crisis and Home Treatment, CAMHS Neuro, Children Looked After & Adoption,
There are 2 full time vacancies for Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioners (WPs) available. These vacancies are available within the existing team for the South Nottinghamshire area and North Nottinghamshire area.
Successful candidates will be required to attend a 12 month training programme with the University of Reading which commences in February as part of this post. You will work towards completing a Post Graduate Certificate qualification of a CYP IAPT approved training in Evidence-Based Psychological Treatment for Children and Young People., Our core purpose is to work with children and young people and their families/carers, who may be experiencing emotional and mental health disorders that have a significant impact on the child's development and cause distress to the child and/or their carers. We aim to improve the mental health of all children and young people with the provision of a timely, integrated, high quality, effective, multi-disciplinary county wide service., This is an exciting opportunity to join the Community CAMHS South or North Team as a Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner.
The Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT) is a service transformation programme delivered by Health Education England (and partners) which aims to improve existing children and young people's mental health Services (CYP MHS) working in the community.

+ The post-holder will work a trainee as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering, high-quality; brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to
moderate mental health difficulties including anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.
+ The post-holder will work with children, Young People and Families with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary.
+ The post-holder will also oversee elements of participation. This includes engaging all service users in various ways to gain feedback, participate in shaping services and running appropriate participation
groups within the services.
+ The post holder will be required to be creative, flexible, adaptable, professional and motivated in all aspects of their role, both in clinical delivery and within the development of the service provision.
Where appropriate to provide support for the work of other members of the multidisciplinary team and signpost children, young people and families to appropriate support.
+ To work as part of the wider multi-disciplinary Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of children and young people within Nottinghamshire.
