Development at Cambridge
Cambridge University Development & Alumni Relations (CUDAR) leads the fundraising and alumni engagement strategy for the University. It has responsibility for raising major philanthropic gifts from alumni and non-alumni sources; for encouraging lifelong relationships and building links between the University, its alumni and supporters; for ensuring that the worldwide community of over 300,000 alumni are well-informed about the development of the University and equipped to be effective ambassadors and advocates; and for communicating persuasively with all audiences to satisfy these objectives. The department is currently in the early planning stages of a new fundraising campaign for the collegiate university.
About the Role
The Campaign Director will be responsible for leading all aspects of the next Collegiate Cambridge Campaign, which includes; conceiving, conceptualising, managing, driving and celebrating the Campaign.
As a member of the CUDAR Leadership Team this post will contribute to the University's fundraising and alumni engagement strategy and for developing and overseeing all aspects of the Campaign plans. They will be expected to lead by example, working collaboratively across the whole of the Collegiate Cambridge organisation to achieve our ambitious objectives. The post holder will manage complex relationships and priorities across the University, demanding diplomacy and strategic thinking.
This position will also provide leadership, project management and senior-level support on all campaign strategies, projects, and initiatives.
As our ideal candidate, you will be a strong project leader, with effective communication and influencing skills. You enjoy big-picture thinking, building and implementing strategies to achieve short- and long-term goals. Your strong organizational skills allow you to manage priorities and deadlines, applying resourcefulness and judgment to determine urgency and project challenges, and making decisions that are in the best interest of the campaign, Development, Cambridge, and our community.
These skills are complemented by your previous experience as a senior manager within a previous £500 m + campaign within Higher Education or non- profit sector. Our ideal candidate will also have experience of delivering cross- departmental business improvement projects to change ways of working or policy. They will be strong communicators, who are able to build strong partnerships by influencing senior stakeholders, in a professional, and strategic manner.
This role is based in central Cambridge. We practise a hybrid working model and the successful candidate will be expected to be in the office for a minimum of 2 days a week
