Full Job Description

Bloomsbury Publishing Plc is looking for a Campaigns Assistant to support the Education Marketing team in marketing Bloomsbury Education books to teachers, parents and children. The role will provide administrative, campaign and general support to the Education Marketing team and ensure the day-to-day smooth running of the team. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager and assisting the Campaigns Executive, the Campaigns Assistant will manage the production of three education catalogues, monitor the Bloomsbury Education social channels as well as design and create point of sale and publicity materials. The role will also include attending and supporting the organisation of school events, festivals and exhibitor stands at conferences. From practical classroom resources, lesson plans and professional development to side-splitting poetry and fantastic fiction for struggling readers, Bloomsbury Education publishes books to help teachers teach better and children learn more. The role

  • Assist the Senior Marketing Manager and the Campaigns Executive with campaigns to market books to schools, teachers and parents
  • Management of departmental processes and administrative support to the Education team, including managing the ordering of gratis copies from the warehouse and their distribution, ensuring key words for media database are updated regularly, organise mailings, processing invoices, inputting spend on budget, diary scheduling
  • Manage the production of three education catalogues
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to DMs and create assets and content for Bloomsbury-owned social channels
  • Create flyers and other point of sale material for events and to support the sales team
  • Design and create publicity material such as bookmarks and posters
  • Ownership of some campaigns, to develop skillset and knowledge of campaign work, and support on campaigns where required
  • Upload relevant titles to NetGalley to encourage reviews
  • Send POS and content to partners on a monthly basis
  • Update the Education section of the Bloomsbury website
  • Check and respond to requests on the general education marketing email
  • Help with coordinating publisher presence at conferences and exhibitions throughout the year
  • Assist with the organisation, travel and accommodation of author events and teacher meetings
  • Attend school events, festivals, conferences and other author events as support to the education marketing team
  • Produce press releases and co-ordinate mailings for all frontlist titles
  • Compile minutes and agendas for regular marketing and publicity meetings
  • Maintain an up-to-date publishing schedule
  • Work collaboratively with editorial, sales and digital teams, as well as the wider Children's M&P team, As an Assistant role, this position is eligible for Bloomsbury's Rental Deposit Loan Scheme. To assist candidates who want to start and to establish a career in publishing, Bloomsbury offers an interest-free rental deposit to support securing somewhere to live. The rental deposit loan can be up to £3,000 and will be paid back over 2 years.
