Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to join the Imperial Cancer Analytics & Digital Team in the role of Cancer Analyst.

We are seeking applicants with experience working on API, Azure and MSSQL preferably within a healthcare data environment, and understanding of Power Automate, Pandas, NLP and Power BI would be desirable. Significant expertise in troubleshooting & debugging existing code, working with complex data from multiple sources (LLMs) to identify trends, writing documentation for new and existing apps, and working with other developers & stakeholders is crucial.

In addition, you will be expected to have experience of leading small/medium projects as part of a fluid and evolving environment, and leading workstreams within large programmes, or experience leading small projects in a digital project environment e.g., product development, rolling out IT systems (software or infrastructure), dashboard development.

You will have good organisational skills and be able to communicate confidently with all levels of staff on a wide range of information as well as the ability to work under pressure as part of a team. You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and applicants must be able to travel to all Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust hospital sites as and when required.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) receives c. 50,000 urgent cancer referrals per year. The Cancer Analytics and Digital Service (CADS) plays a crucial role in managing and tracking these patients as well as driving improvements to patient pathways and outcomes.

The Cancer Analyst forms part of the CADS leadership team, providing high quality business intelligence to clinical and operational leadership for strategic, operational and research purposes. This includes statutory and corporate reporting, business planning and modelling, and data quality. In addition, the Cancer Analyst supports with the development of data integration, process automation and machine learning based solutions to improve the efficiency and quality of cancer pathways.

As part of the ICHT Cancer team your role will involve helping teams across the NHS organisations understand where Advanced Technologies can be utilised to help improve pathways, help develop and build proof of concepts using data science and engineering approaches to problems. This in undertaken in three ways: 1) Redesigning services; 2) Data and analytics; 3) A learning and innovation
