Cancer Clinical Trials Pharmacist

• Part time hours 18.75 per week, You will work closely with the team of pharmacy co-ordinators, technician, assistants as well as the Clinical Management Group. The post holder's main role will work closely with HOPE unit research staff, as well as Pharmacy colleagues, in the set up and running of both commercial and non-commercial studies and the local Research & Innovation Department to ensure comprehensive trials support. The post holder will also be involved in the building of clinical trials protocols on the existing electronic prescribing system and in the set-up of clinical trials on a day to day basis
  
  You should have previous experience of working in a hospital pharmacy and previous experience in oncology and haematology will be essential. Clinical trials experience is desirable but not essential., We require a person to work independently with a high level attention to detail, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as effective influencing and negotiating skills.
  
  The Pharmacy Clinical Trials service at University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) is a key part of the clinical research multi-disciplinary team which aims to provide a safe and efficient service in the conduct of Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) studies across UHL's three sites. The Pharmacy Clinical Trials service is a friendly, varied and busy service with a portfolio of over 200 IMP studies.
UHL is one of the largest and busiest teaching Trusts in the country and provides care to over one million people in Leicestershire and Rutland. Leicester is a vibrant city with excellent transport links. We are looking are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking pharmacist to develop their clinical trial knowledge in a wide range of cancer treatments. Your main base will be Leicester Royal Infirmary but the successful candidate will be expected to support and manage the Clinical Trial Team and deputise where necessary across three sites., Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).
