Full Job Description
The role of the Cancer Waiting Time (CWT) Validator/Lead Rapid Referral Administrator is to support the day to day oversight of CWT validation, with a remit of undertaking detailed patient level validation to ensure accurate and robust information to support performance reporting, high quality data and to assist in managing patients through their cancer pathway. The post-holder will be required to carry out an initial stage of validation against all 28, 31 and 62 day pathway breaches, liaising with cancer management and the division ahead of final submission. The post holder will also be responsible for overseeing processes around the management of urgent suspected cancer referrals, acting as a point of escalation and providing cover for the service where necessary. The post-holder will work closely with the cancer management team to regularly audit processes associated with referral management, ensuring they are fit for purpose and in line with local and national guidance., Cancer Waiting Times Validation
- To carry out first-stage validation of CWT breaches, including 28, 31 and 62 day, ensuring breaches are accurate, correctly allocated and describe the rationale for the breach
- Ensure validation is carried out in advance of relevant meetings, such as Delivery Group, to support accurate discussion
- Review patient pathways for data quality and completeness and feeding back with the relevant team members to support knowledge and understanding
- To support the identification, reporting and resolving of CWT data collection issues in order to achieve a high standard of quality and completeness of CWT/COSD information
- Regularly monitor CWT/PTL data, identifying and validating inaccurate and incomplete data, correcting inaccuracies and supporting operational staff in this process Urgent Suspected Cancer (USC) Referral management
- Support and oversee the Rapid Referral Office in the processing of USC referrals in line with policy guidelines, ensuring that site-specific protocol is followed at all times
- To provide cross-cover for the Rapid Referral Office where necessary, ensuring continuation of service at all times including fielding and answering emails, liaising with patients and at time dealing with graphic triage photographs
- Liaise with various teams, including secondary care clinicians and GPs, to ensure patient pathways are as timely as possible, highlight bottlenecks and issues to the cancer management team as necessary
