Full Job Description
Embark on a new culinary journey as our Canteen Manager providing catering for a headcount up to 500 employees in Hatfield Distribution Centre. If you\\'re passionate about crafting delightful dishes and thrive in a fast-paced setting, we want you on our team., We are currently recruiting for an experienced Canteen Manager to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our colleagues. You will ideally have a background working within a large kitchen with an ability to cater for a headcount of 500 people over a 24-hour period. You may have previously been working at a Kitchen Manager level potentially within a commercial kitchen. The successful candidate will report directly to the Warehouse Manager. This role will require you to work 37.5 hrs per week, Monday - Friday. We do not accept applications from candidates residing outside of UK and must be living within a commutable distance.
- Menu designs to include a Free From option for those with allergies
- Managing the Canteen budget
- Management and ordering of food products
- Managing the Kitchen including temperature control, cleanliness and standards
- Ensure products and services in the colleague canteen are of the highest standards
- Ensure freshness and quality of the food that is served meets the Food Safety standards
- Ensure there is good range and quantity of food for the colleagues on site that meets all requirements and includes working with Food Safety
- You should have the ability to delegate tasks to the team to ensure meals are prepared and presented in a timely manner whilst adhering to Food Safety standards
- Utilise reports and data to identify opportunities to improve departmental KPI's.
- Ensure accurate accounting, banking and recording of daily takings
- Line manage a team to maintain excellent food and service standards & identify key areas for development and improvement
- Experienced in the fast-paced world of canteen management
- In-depth knowledge of ingredients, food processes, and culinary techniques
- Familiarity with a variety of kitchen appliances, ensuring optimal utilisation and efficiency
- Experience of team management with the full flexibility of creating a varied menu
- Ensure accurate accounting, banking and recording of daily takings
- Ensure efficient ordering of stock and check supplies against invoices and delivery notes, raising and resolving anomalies appropriately
- Menu planning and costing
The ability to work to legal compliance and the due diligence with ideally Food Safety Level 3 qualification and excellent understanding of Health and Safety - Good communication and leadership skills
