Full Job Description

To support the delivery of existing or new cost-justifiable IT capacity to meet the current and future business needs by undertaking component, service, and business level capacity management.

What will you be doing?

· Develop and execute Capacity Management processes and identify process issues along with educating others in this function supporting the review of roles and responsibilities.

· Subject Matter Expert for all capacity recommendations for both services and IT infrastructure ensuring business demand is also captured and BAU is always protected.

· Supervise capacity and performance of existing services by initiating proactive and reactive activities that fulfil future capacity requirements.

· Manage, control, and predict capacity and performance of existing IT resources and individual IT components, supplying expert guidance to Capacity Manager and Infrastructure Manager, via ongoing monitoring and predictive analysis.

· Supervise the storage, server and network estate through planning, monitoring and implementing efficient and effective solutions i.e. rightsizing, decommissioning, virtualising and consolidating hardware.

· Review all IT changes for their impact on Capacity Management, including advisory attendance at Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings if appropriate.

· Maintain and manage the delivery of an appropriate Capacity Plan, which includes current state and future projections to reflect business needs and includes impact and performance assessment.

· Develop efficient and effective tools for the production and management of Capacity Management for internal and external business benefit and the production of timely reports are available.

· Collaborate closely with Service management processes to include Service Design and Transition, Service Operations and IT Resilience and maintain supplier and stakeholder relationship by attending monthly service reviews, provide monthly CSAT scores and identifying areas of improvement.

· Provide deep analysis of the entire infrastructure with predictions and projections of growth and consumption and provide expert guidance to Capacity Manager and Infrastructure Manager, via ongoing monitoring and predictive analysis.

· Proven experience in Service Management.

· This role is aligned to the ITIL framework, therefore ITIL v3 Foundation

· ITIL v3 qualified to Service Design Lifecycle/Capabilities (Intermediate Level) or equivalent experience

· Good understanding & experience of using service management tools

· Good communicator across all levels

Desirable

· Demonstrates a good working knowledge of management structures and reporting procedures

· Understanding of risk management

· Formal Project and Programme Management qualifications such as APM, PRINCE2 and MSP or equivalent experience

Band & Salary: Band 4B (£35,583 - £40,029) Salary offer will be based on experience.
