Full Job Description

Here at Chessington World of Adventures we are recruiting for a Capital Projects Manager to join our Technical Services team! As the Capital Projects Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of capital investment projects across the resort. This will involve establishing clear project briefs, managing tendering and contract processes, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with Project Champions from various departments, coordinating with key stakeholders across the resort, and collaborating with Merlin Magic Making Project Managers to ensure projects align with broader business objectives and create memorable guest experiences.,

  • Manage capital investment projects from inception to completion, including defining project briefs, tendering, managing contracts, critical path management, and conducting post-launch reviews.
  • Work closely with departmental Project Champions to scope and define projects that align with the resort's capital plans. Leverage expertise to ensure effective tendering processes, balancing both value and quality.
  • Ensure that project outcomes support our ambition to provide memorable experiences for our guests, with an emphasis on quality and innovation.
  • Liaise with Merlin Magic Making Project Managers to explore synergies and identify opportunities that enhance the overall resort experience, ensuring all projects are aligned for maximum impact.
  • Coordinate with park operations to ensure that projects are delivered with minimal disruption to guest experiences, carefully managing timelines and park accessibility and guest satisfaction.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for all capital projects within the resort, providing clear communication, updates, and resolutions across all levels of the organisation.
  • Conduct thorough post-launch evaluations to ensure that projects meet the desired outcomes, gathering feedback and insights to improve future initiatives.

    Demonstrable experience managing local capital projects involving multiple stakeholders, with a strong ability to coordinate efforts, manage timelines, and ensure successful delivery within scope, time, and budget.
  • Previous experience within Facilities Management (FM) is highly advantageous
  • While not essential, Prince2 project management certification is highly desirable.
  • A member of the Association for Project Management (APM), reflecting your commitment to maintaining high professional standards and staying up to date with industry best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, manage expectations, and keep all parties informed at every stage of the project lifecycle.

    An annual salary up to £65,000
