Are you looking for an opportunity to come and work as part of an amazing team supporting the delivery of cardiac services for Norfolk?
The Cardiac Cath Labs at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital are looking for a Unit PA to come and provide administrative support to the department.
Our innovative Cardiology department's Cardiac Cath labs comprise of 5 Cath labs, a recovery area and an Overnight Elective Unit. Procedures completed in the Cath lab include coronary diagnostic procedures, interventional angioplasty, Electrophysiology Studies and Pacemaker insertion. In addition, we run a 24 hour heart attack service which is provided out of hours on an on call basis.
As part of the team you will work closely with clinical staff performing a variety of tasks and will often be a first point of contact for both staff and visitor queries.
This is an established role and training, and support will be given to the successful candidate
If you want a new challenge in a supportive area with lots of opportunity to learn, this is the job for you., We require a Unit PA to assist us in the administration of running a busy service, including tasks such as:
+ Writing rosters and approving Annual leave
+ Planning the servicing and repair of critical equipment
+ Assisting in the organisation of Lab scheduling
+ Organising and taking minutes for meetings.
Shifts are flexible, some home working days can be considered.

+ To prepare core / non-core HR documentation for the Directorate's staff.
+ To constantly deal with matters of a confidential nature, liaising with HR, Finance, Payroll and Senior Managers / Board members as appropriate.
+ To liaise with Senior Management, Line Managers, HR, Finance and Payroll on non-medical staff issues relating to recruitment, pay and sickness.
+ To liaise with Managers / Clinical Directors / Consultants within the Directorate to ensure an effective complaints management system.
+ To effectively deal with enquiries, either in person, on the telephone, or written, using initiative to take action or redirect queries as appropriate.
+ Using judgement skills to effectively prioritise own workload, according to the changing needs of the Department. To demonstrate excellent organisational skills. The postholder is supported, rather than managed.
+ Develop policy changes to working practices within own areas of responsibility and disseminate information accordingly.
+ To provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to Cath Lab Manager, clinical leaders and senior management where requested. Diary management for same, using initiative to reschedule appointments independently as issues arise.
+ To assist Cath Lab Manager, Clinical leads, Clinical Facilitators leads as required in relation, but not limited to, training courses, expense claims, attendance at meetings, annual leave.

Travelling to work
Staff parking is available onsite; however, this is limited during core working hours. We have more capacity in the evening and at weekends and can usually provide spaces during those hours.
We look to allocate these spaces fairly. Our Travel Office have a set of criteria that staff must meet in order to qualify. If you qualify for a space, you may be placed on a waiting list if we are at full capacity.
The NNUH is served by a number of public buses, and we offer generously discounted monthly passes with First Bus & Konect.
The Costessey Park and Ride runs regularly each day from 06:30 (from P&R) to 20:45 (from NNUH) and this service is free for NHS staff. There is a regular Thickthorn P&R service as well which is free. Applications to the Travel Office are required for this service. We also have a discounted service from the airport P&R if you purchase a bundle. Please see Konect website for further details.
The NNUH host multiple bicycle racks and a salary sacrifice scheme. We also benefit from a Beryl station onsite.
