Full Job Description

The Cardiology Investigations Unit at Whittington Health is a small busy department offering full non-invasive Cardiology and standard Echocardiography services to both paediatric and adult patients. We also run a pacemaker follow up clinic serving the local community. The department currently supports 5 cardiologists. We work closely with the RACPC and heart failure services as well as supporting a wide variety of other disciplines, such as oncology, respiratory, maternity and care of the older person., To be a member of a skilled team of Cardiac Physiologists, providing non-invasive cardiac investigations for inpatients and outpatients.

The successful candidate will undertake the following routine non-invasive clinical physiological tests: ECGs, Stress tests, Ambulatory BP and ECG monitoring, Event recorders.

To provide factual reports for all routine investigations under supervision to enable clinical decisions to be made by medical staff regarding patient treatment

Maintain discipline and standards of technical competency in the provision of non-invasive investigative services within the department.

Actively participate towards the smooth day to day running of the department, confirming ECGs, sending reports out to GPs and consultants, answering phone calls.

We are seeking suitably qualified, motivated Cardiac Physiologists to join our friendly team.

Applicants can be newly or recently qualified cardiac physiologist and should have BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent, ideally a year's broad experience in non-invasive cardiology and be able to demonstrate competence in a range of non-invasive procedures. Introduction to and training in echo and pacing can be provided to suitable candidates.

They should be willing to work towards RCCP/AHCS registration.
