Full Job Description

The post holder will support the Cardiac Division including Cardiology, Cardiac surgery and transplant but with a focus on Cardiac Surgery at Wythenshawe Hospital in the planning, co-ordination and evaluation of education and training . They will work closely with the general ward education teams and ward managers, ensuring education is standardised across all areas. The role will involve supporting nurses in the phase 2 of ERAS C bay gain enhanced recovery after surgery skills, such as inotropes, arterial and central line care, nasal high flow and noradrenaline use.

extensive Caridac / Cardiac surgery / transplant experience (3 years minimum)

Teaching qualification or evidence of equivalent experience

Registered nurse

Substantial experience of working at band 6 level managing a team within Caridac / Cardiac surgery / transplant

Evidence of CPD

Multi Professional Team working

Teaching and counselling skills

High level of personal and professional credibility

Ability to influence staff and promote and monitor change

Good written and oral communication skills

Participate and promote multiprofessional patient care

Capable of working under own initiative or as part of a multi professional team clarifying objectives and identify priorities for action

Utilize best evidence and research to inform practice

Continually update and develop the appropriate skills necessary for the delivery of care

Demonstrate self confidence and awareness of own limitations

Determined to succeed and committed to ongoing professional development

Diplomatic - sensitive to the needs of colleagues and employee

ITC skills including data bases, word processing and multi media
