We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic nurse with proven specialist knowledge and experience in cardiology to work as part of our established multi-disciplinary Cardiac Rehabilitation Team at UHCW. This is an exciting opportunity to improve the clinical outcomes and quality of life for service users who have recently received treatment for their coronary artery disease (CAD). We are seeking those with a high level of knowledge of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in order to provide clinical expertise in providing all aspects of coronary heart disease management, including audit and development of the service.

Applicants should have some understanding of Cardiac Rehab and be committed to supporting the patient to manage their condition.

Excellent communication skills are a must, as well as an interest and proven ability in the supervision and clinical support of others. You will also have experience in working as part of a team. The role involves being able to act as a clinical expert for primary and secondary health care teams and effective liaison with the community based cardiac rehabilitation services across Coventry & Warwickshire.

The post holder will be an experienced nurse contributing to the development, delivery, and evaluation of a multidisciplinary, menu-based cardiac rehabilitation service.

Main duties of the job

At UHCW, the cardiovascular rehabilitation service is delivered across two outpatient sites - Centre for exercise and health, Coventry and St Cross Hospital, Rugby. This multi-site service offers cardiovascular rehabilitation to the following groups of patients - STEMI, NSTEMI, Revasc, HFrEF, HFpEF and PAD across the patient recovery pathway.

You will be working daily with a multi-disciplinary team of Cardiac Rehabilitation health professionals including nurses, exercise physiologists, dieticians, and NHS Talking Therapies practitioners. In addition, you will develop good working relationships with our administrative staff and patient volunteers. You will liaise with other healthcare partners

This role will involve working across our three cardiac rehab sites (University Hospital Coventry (inpatient), Centre for Exercise and Health, Coventry and St Cross Hospital - outpatient).

When applying for this position, please ensure that in your supporting statement, you make it clear as to how you meet the person specifications, especially the values and behaviors expected of all colleagues. This will figure largely in our short-listing criteria and overall selection process.
