Full Job Description

We are a very busy service with the ability to run 9 outpatient Echo lists including Community Diagnostics, a complex Echo list and inpatient Echo each session.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic competent and motivated BSE accredited Echocardiographer within our busy and friendly Cardiac Department. There is an opportunity for a physiologist with relevant experience who is looking for greater responsibility within the Team Leader role.
We will consider individuals who maybe working towards BSE accreditation, where this applies the post will be offered at Band 6 and upon successful accreditation the post holder will transfer to the Band 7 role.
This is an extremely exciting opportunity to be a part of developing and future proofing our department. We are keen to get the right team member in position at the outset to help develop our service.
We are a forward thinking, progressive department and you will be supported to further develop your expertise and autonomy. As a key member of the leadership team you will act as a role model and display the confidence and competence to support the Specialist Lead Physiologists and Head of cardiac physiology department and delivering an exemplar service.
This post requires a full UK driving license (inc. car) and flexibility to work across all ELHT locations as required., To produce high quality diagnostic images and reports in accordance with BSE Guidance For IP/OP scans.
Escalate significant findings according to departmental policies and procedures
Participate in Quality Assurance and departmental audits
Maintain BSE accreditation and stay up to date with developments with the guidelines
Maintain equipment and report faults
Transfer images
Stock control
Triaging
Training of students and junior members of staff
Perform Team Leader responsibilities in rotation
Sickness and Absence management, Appraisals, performance management
Be computer literate - Cerner, Bed board, ICE, Change Healthcare

Disclosure and Barring Scheme (DBS)

The healthcare sector is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary. However, if you are applying for a post as a BANK worker, the payment must be made in full at the time of employment checks. The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £42.90 and for a Standard Disclosure £22.90 which includes a small handling fee.
