Full Job Description
The Cardiac Surgery Specialist nurse will be expected to participate in the assessment, planning and delivery of direct patient care throughout the cardiac surgical patient journey. They will work in collaboration with the Consultant Cardiothoracic surgeons, lead specialist nurse and admin team in the scheduling of patients for theatre. They will also preoperatively assess, optimize, review and prepare patients who are listed for Cardiac surgery. They will act as an advocate, contact and support for their own caseload of patients waiting for Cardiac surgery. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced nurse to join our passionate Cardiac specialist nurse team at MFT.
Do you want to be at the center of our famous Cardiac specialist nurse team, providing our patients with the best journey as their named nurse? This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a new setting and increase your Cardiac/Cardiology knowledge.
You will be supported to develop the skills to working independently and autonomously alongside a designated surgeon group and their patients. Supporting your patients through the whole of their cardiac patient journey.
You must possess excellent communication skills and a minimum of three years post registration experience and cardiac surgery and/or cardiology experience.
