Full Job Description

+ Lead outpatient clinics independently, prioritising workload during busy periods
+ Perform ECGs, recognise and interpret abnormal rhythms with appropriate escalation
+ Setup and fit Holter monitors, event monitors and blood pressure monitors
+ To deal with patient queries both in person and over the telephone, excellent communication skills are essential
+ To be responsible for accurate inputting and updating clinical data into the Cardiology Information Database (EPIC)
+ To demonstrate a positive attitude to the team and contribute to change and developments within the department
+ To ensure that a safe, child-orientated and welcoming environment is maintained
+ To contribute to maintenance of good professional working relationships and team building
+ To be aware of risk management issues and to report these incidents according to policy
+ To maintain Health and Safety standards at all times
+ To undertake any other duties as directed by the Senior Chief/Chief Cardiac Physiologist

An opportunity has arisen within the Cardiac Physiology department at Great Ormond Street Hospital for a Cardiographer. We are seeking a welcoming and motivated individual to run our paediatric ECG clinics. The post holder will be expected to work independently performing 12 lead ECGs and fitting ECG and blood pressure ambulatory monitors, in both a busy outpatient and inpatient settings.
Once in post, the successful candidate will be trained to perform and interpret ECGs. They must be able to work as part of a team and excellent communication skills are essential. Prior experience working in a healthcare environment, with the public orwith paediatrics is advantageous.

The recruitment process for all admin and clerical roles at Bands 2-4 will be a two stage recruitment process whereby shortlisted candidates will undertake an online literacy, numeracy, ICT and typing test. Only those candidates who pass the competency test will proceed to a formal interview.
