Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Cardiothoracic Audit Facilitator to join our unique Cardiothoracic Audit Team., The main purpose of this post is to collect and input data relating to the management of patients admitted to this Trust with Acute Coronary Syndromes. The post holder will be responsible for the validation and submission of mandatory data to the National Institute for Cardiovascular Outcomes Research (NICOR) audit, using the Myocardial Ischaemia National Audit Project (MINAP) dataset, for every patient that is admitted with or develops myocardial ischaemia during their hospital stay. The post holder will be expected to collate all the patient specific data in a timely fashion, ensuring the department meets all reporting and outcome deadlines.,

  • To validate and submit mandatory MINAP data to the NICOR registry on every patient who presents with or develops Acute Coronary Syndrome
  • To undertake the collection and recording of MINAP data on NICOR registry using patient notes and electronic systems. Ensure this takes place in an accurate and timely fashion, liaising with clinical and administrative staff to collate information and resolve queries
  • To transcribe data onto MINAP data collection forms (paper or electronic) as required, with the ability to learn to interpret clinical data and test results to complete data collection forms accurately
  • To manage own time to ensure that all work is completed within a timely fashion to meet deadlines. This will involve frequent prolonged periods of concentration, with attention to detail and independent working
  • To undertake training in the use of NICOR and other computer systems.
  • To respond appropriately to data requests, both regular and ad-hoc, received from within the Trust and externally; to prioritise these requests and to organise work schedule to accommodate them
  • To ensure response complies with current Data Protection legislation and is in line with the Trust's data protection and Caldicott Awareness strategy
