Full Job Description

Howbury House is seeking a part time senior assistant. You will be part of a busy and dedicated team who support and care for residents at Howbury House, some of whom are living with dementia. You will be leading the shift and line managing a group of care assistants, reviewing, monitoring, and updating care plans, risk assessments and be responsible for the daily tasks that occur throughout the day for example liaising with GP, Nurse practitioners, and other professionals to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our residents and staff. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude to teamwork, and an enthusiasm for working creatively and co-operatively with colleagues at Howbury. Howbury is a registered service with the care quality commission.

It is essential that you have a Health and social care diploma level 2/NVQ Level 2 in care. To have/or achieve a medication qualification within three months of commencing employment.

You will need an understanding of the rights and needs of older people living with dementia and to treat people with dignity and respect. You will need to have effective communication skills, accurate recording skills and the ability to complete quality assurance audits, lead a shift and use certain IT systems for person centered care planning and risk assessments.
