Full Job Description
Please note that this role is unfortunately not suitable for candidates on sponsorship looking for a 20 hour role due to the hours and additional sleep-in duties going above the legal maximum. The Woodlands is a Supported Living Service consisting of 10 individual flats. Individuals hold their own tenancy with Wyre Forest Community Housing. The service is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We provide care and support to people in their own homes to enable them to live as independently as possible both at home, out and about in the community. The unit has a Registered Manager, Team Leader and a Core staff team, who remain committed and motivated to making a difference. The level of support required by each individual is guided by them, their Personal Assessment and support plans. The support provided ranges from assistance with personal care, cooking, shopping, attending social events, building social networks/friendships and relationships, fitness/ healthy lifestyles, appointments, budgeting and support to manage their homes, just to name a few, whilst remaining person centred allowing flexibility and choice. The service supports adults 18+ with a Learning Disability, Mental health, Autism, physical disabilities, sensory needs and emotional / psychological needs. Experience with this would be desirable but not essential. HOURS: The service runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is between the hours of 7.00am to 22.00pm with a Sleep In member of staff between 22:00p.m and 07:00a.m. NOTE: The hours of work are on a Rota Basis, over a 2 Week set rolling rota which includes an overnight Sleep in and can be provided should the applicant wish to see it.
- You will need to be flexible and enthusiastic, have a sense of humour, with an ability to communicate both verbally and written.
- Good recording skills are essential. Computer skills advantageous.
- Previous experience of supporting people with care and support needs and an understanding of the needs and rights of people with learning disabilities is an advantage.
