Full Job Description

Acorns Children's Hospice Trust are looking for a Care Assistant for our Birmingham Hospice to deliver holistic care of children and young people who are life-limited or life-threatened at the hospice or in their home. This role is offered on a full time basis, working 37.5 hours per week, As a Care Assistant, youll

  • Assist nurses in assessing the care needs of the children
  • Deliver day to day care as detailed in the care plan
  • Assist with medication administration
  • Facilitate outings, play and activity that is appropriate to age and development needs., As a UNICEF GoldRights Respecting organisation we are committed to ensuring that the United Nations Convention for the Rights of the Child is embedded into both culture and practice within the organisation.     Care certificate or willing to work towards
  • NNEB or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (in a subject related to children, families or health)
  • Experience in hospital or physical care of children

    £23,400 to £24,720 per annum. Enhancements for Saturdays (30%), Sundays (50%) and nights (50%)
