Full Job Description

Working as a Health Care Assistant at Practice Plus Group Ophthalmology, North West, youll provide support to the nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of a high standard of care to patients in a safe and caring environment. This will involve working with our Ophthalmic Nurses in outpatients and theatre.,

  • Welcoming visitors to the service in a pleasant efficient manner ensuring the appropriate person is notified of their arrival.
  • Dealing with enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner, being aware of the need to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrate competence in the accurate recording of routine clinical observations.
  • Carrying out clinical skills relevant to the unit.
  • Assisting the clinical team with data entry, filling and maintenance of accurate documentation of care.
  • Ensuring treatment rooms/ areas are adequately stocked, tidy and fit for purpose.
  • Adhering to appropriate infection control procedures.
  • Participating fully as a team member sharing knowledge and information and therefore promoting a cohesive team.
  • Accurately record up to date information on records ensuring that the department is promptly informed of any changes.
  • Participating in the stock control and ordering of consumables within the clinical areas.

The ideal applicant will have
  • You will have an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care and be willing to undertake training to gain further clinical skills.
  • Experience or a good understanding of a HCA duties and responsibilities
  • The ability to receive and communicate information accurately and take instruction from professional colleagues.
  • The flexibility to fit into internal rotating shift pattern
