Full Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors, particularly those with dementia, and will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through stimulating activities and social interaction., Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activity programmes tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
Facilitate group and individual activities, ensuring that all residents are included and encouraged to participate.
Provide support during activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and staff to understand individual needs and preferences.
Document participation in activities and report any changes in residents' behaviour or health to the care team.
Assist with the organisation of special events, outings, and celebrations within the care home.
Promote a positive atmosphere by encouraging social interaction among residents.
Assist with risk assessments
Assist with sourcing materials and stock control
Previous experience in a care home setting is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with seniors and their families.
A genuine passion for senior care and enhancing the lives of those living with dementia.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules within the care environment.
A caring attitude, patience, and empathy towards residents are essential qualities for this role.
Innovative and creative approach to designing activities.
Clean driving license and access to your own vehicle . You will be working within the activities Team across our two homes in Gosforth.
Days and hours will be discussed at interview but will normally be between 10.30 and 3.30, Monday to Friday with ocassional weekends and evenings.

Pay: £12.00 per hour
