Full Job Description

Watcombe Circus is a registered care home which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year providing a home and support to our service users. We provide person-centred care and support for 12 service users with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs, communication needs and complex healthcare related needs. Experienced and high-quality leadership is key to ensuring the home meets statutory and organisational requirements and provides a safe and welcoming environment for our service users. We have the perfect opportunity for an experienced people manager, who is available either immediately or as soon as possible, to step into the Manager role, helping the team to support individuals with complex needs to achieve a good quality of life. You will be a good people manager with a sound knowledge base regarding supporting individuals with complex learning disabilities and with associated health care conditions. You will have the ability to positively build relationships and network with stake holders such as healthcare professionals and other social care professionals, and above all, promote a positive inclusive culture that supports and models NCHA's CLEAR values, behaviours and expectations. You will have demonstrable change management skills, and the ability to bring people together to plan and execute change. As a scale 6 Manager, some of your duties may include:

  • Meeting statutory, organisational quality requirements and regulations and key performance indicators such as service user outcomes, staffing and capacity
  • Achieving agreed performance targets and reporting on performance in accordance with management requirements
  • Promote the principles of personalisation; using feedback mechanisms and other information to improve practice
  • Recruit, induct and support and develop colleagues; managing and evaluating performance effectively
  • Maintain the management of information and risk analysis to inform decision making, preparing and analysing reports and data where necessary
  • Monitor and meet designated cost centre income and expenditure budgets; manage project and service user finances in accordance with financial procedures/regulations.
  • The role is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with some emergency shift cover outside of the these hours to be expected on occasion, which may include Early Shifts, Late shifts and some weekends. To ensure continuous management provision, we need someone who can start in the role as soon as possible. Interviews will be held at our head office in Clifton. NCHA strives to be a welcoming and inclusive employer as such we particularly welcome applicants from ethnic minority communities, LGBTQ+ communities, candidates with disabilities and women as they are currently under-represented within our workforce principally in our people manager roles.
