The Trustees are looking to recruit to the post of Care Team Worker The Springboard Project, Oldham Town Centre NJC Scale 5 - SCP12 - 17 £27,711 - £30,060 per annum (Full time / Full year salary) See below for actual salary 36 hours 40 minutes per week Term Time plus 5 days (195 days) SEN Allowance - £1,491 per annum FIXED TERM to 31.08.2025 in the first instance 'For a person to 'grow', they need an environment that provides them with genuineness (openness and self-disclosure), acceptance (being seen with unconditional positive regard) and empathy (being listened to and understood). Carl Rogers Part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust, Springboard Project, based in Oldham town centre, provides high quality, innovative alternative educational experiences for pupils and students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties) across the 14-19 age range. As a Care Team Worker, you'll play a pivotal role in making a lasting difference in the lives of children with significant social, emotional, mental health, and special educational needs.   • As a Care Team Worker you will:
  • Play a key role in supporting behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding systems on-site.
  • Work closely with pastoral staff to support and encourage them in their work.
  • Work closely with students, parents, staff, and external agencies
  • Form excellent, trusting relationships with SEMH students and their families
  • Develop yours, and others understanding of behaviour, zones of regulation, restorative culture, and trauma awareness
  • Uphold Unconditional Positive Regard as a central ethos

  • Previous experience of planning and developing intervention to support reluctant learners
  • A strong desire to ensure young people, who have often had very negative experiences of education in the past, develop their skills and knowledge to the very best of their ability.
  • Ability to provide specialist support in ensuring that pupils are able to engage both in the classroom and across the wider school community.
  • Previous experience of working with young people of secondary school age who may present with challenging behaviour and complex SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs, preferably within an educational setting
  • A nurturing and empathetic approach to behaviour management
  • The physical and emotional resilience to support students with complex needs, taking a non-judgemental approach.
  • Knowledge and experience to support staff in developing excellent classroom practice that fosters positive behaviour for learning
  • The ability to support teaching and learning within an SEMH setting to a dedicated group of students.
  • Understanding, and experience, of developing, and implementing, individual behaviour support plans & positive strategies.
  • The ability to model and encourage appropriate social behaviour in and out of school and to cater for the general welfare of students.
  • The ability to work as part of a team using own initiative when needed.
  • Willingness to participate in own professional development
