Full Job Description

Our Home Carer Assistants work with elderly people who live in their own homes and may need just a small amount of support e.g. help with shopping or companionship through to care visits with one or two carers several times per day.

Working for Radfield Home Care as a Care Assistant is an extremely rewarding job. In order to do the job well you need to have a caring nature, be flexible and organised in your work, enjoying taking on responsibility and making a real difference to other people's lives., Carers travel between our client's homes according to their rota and stay different lengths of time with each client depending on what their care needs are. One call may be to prepare a light lunch for a client and give them their medication and then next call may be to take a client to a doctors appointment or to the hairdresser.

The work varies day to day and hour to hour and whilst you are doing this you are creating relationships with some of the most fantastic people in our society - the older generation.

The type of activities you would undertake as a Home Carer for Radfield Home Care include:
- getting to know our clients, their interests and their needs
- spending time doing activities that they enjoy
- helping clients with daily personal care such as washing and dressing
- carrying out general tasks such as housework, laundry and shopping
- helping to prepare meals and assist with nutrition and hydration as needed
- assisting with medication
- helping clients manage their budget, pay bills and write letters
- helping families get used to new caring responsibilities
- going with clients to and from appointments
