About this role: We're currently hiring for our fantastic Business Development Sales Support team. In this role you will provide proactive relationship management and assistance to the business development managers. This is to enhance our growth within the intermediary market.,

  • To proactively make calls, send emails and manage outbound campaigns and appropriate inbound enquiries from Advisers
  • To ensure all key Adviser data and activity is captured and updated on our internal systems
  • To act as liaison between BDMs, Advisers and Investment Managers
  • To attend Adviser meetings when required in virtual and face to face where appropriate
  • To schedule Adviser meetings with BDMs ensuring all required documentation is prepared in advance, together with any logistical planning
  • To research Adviser firms, including the use of Financial Clarity data, linked in, websites etc
  • Undertake regular strategy meetings with BDMs, to plan, discuss and organise activities
  • To have a working knowledge of the geographical locations of the BDMs you are aligned with
  • Internal liaison with Compliance to ensure that presentations are completed and available when required
  • Co-ordination of the distribution of regular communications to Advisers
  • External and internal event planning and organisation with attendance when required
  • Ad-hoc project work driven by business requirements
  • To undertake outbound calls to existing and new advisers to generate interest in the proposition and events and to build relationships with paraplanners, admin and IFA back office support staff
  • To follow-up of new business calls and literature requests to generate leads for the Sales Team and help better understand our client base
  • To identify new sales opportunities and pass these through to the Sales team
  • To support all new IFA relationships and assist with account opening and ongoing servicing
  • To support the BDM's and in turn the channel with business retention
  • To provide consistent delivery and good client outcomes in accordance with RBC BD values, policies and regulatory requirements

    Professional Industry Qualifications or working towards through either the CII/CISI, Minimum of 3 years' experience of working within a sales team and a good working knowledge of the Adviser market
  • Experience using Financial Clarity and FE Analytics (or equivalent)
  • A good knowledge of current key regulatory and financial issues
  • A general knowledge of compliance and risk
  • Good knowledge of RBC BD investment propositions, Excellent written and oral communicative skills - To deal with people at all levels and from different backgrounds - essential people skills that can be applied to proactive relationship development.
  • Very capable with systems such as MS Excel, and preferable to have understanding and use of internal client data management and record keeping systems
  • Excellent organisational skills - structured approach to work to handle significant volumes of information and co-ordinate deadlines to satisfy multiple parties
  • Diplomacy - to consider and deal with competing interests within the firm to produce the best result for the firm
  • Accuracy - a great attention to detail to ensure client data is of the highest quality
  • To be able to work independently and, at times, self-manage own tasks with initiative and self-confidence
  • Manage time appropriately to ensure key tasks are completed within deadlines
  • A genuine interest in the Adviser market and a desire to work within a sales environment
  • Ability to learn quickly Business and commercial awareness
  • Ability to identify and escalate issues/risks
  • A "team" driven mentality
