Full Job Description

We are currently seeking to recruit an Advisor to join our dedicated Careers, Employability and Progression team on a fixed term basis to September 2025. We have a strong track record of supporting our students to gain places at prestigious universities, visual arts colleges and conservatoires. Our outstanding careers centre is equipped with a wide range of high quality resources and software.

In this role you will provide guidance and advice for progression to higher education, employment, apprenticeships or further training, in addition to organising dedicated student meetings and assisting with preparation for assessment and selection processes. You will also have the opportunity to organise and publicise a range of events and encourage active participation in our extensive programme of activities.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to be supportive and develop good working relationships with students, staff and external representatives.

Leyton Sixth Form College offers a wide range of A level and vocational courses to approximately 2,300 full-time 16-19 year old students. We strive to provide high quality education and support to our students in fulfilling their academic potential and becoming thinking, questioning and caring members of society. We are a diverse and vibrant college and we are proud of the success and achievements of our students and staff.

At the heart of our culture and ethos is our commitment to being a responsive, innovative and forward-thinking College and a thriving learning community. In order to realise this commitment in our day-to-day work, we have developed a framework of Compassionate Education, a concept which embraces high expectations and inclusive practice, seeks to apply the principles of equity, diversity and belonging in all we do, promotes the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing for all and advances our ambition to be an anti-racist organisation.
