Full Job Description

This new role will be a key part of exploring generative AI at Cambridge, with a focus on delivering working, well-constructed proof-of-concepts that meet requirements and enable business needs and benefits to be evaluated. You'll work collaboratively within a small cross-functional team to create technical solutions using generative AI tools and technologies, and will be instrumental in assessing new technologies and platforms to determine the most appropriate options for specific use cases. You'll write code, actively participate in code reviews, and develop and implement testing strategies, creating documentation to facilitate future developments and implementations. This is an opportunity to learn about cutting-edge technologies that have the potential to transform our industry. You'll be supported to actively seek opportunities for learning, and to feed these into wider best practice around both generative AI and development practices. This is an exciting time to join this new team and make a real contribution to the future of the organisation.

You have proven software development experience and are confident taking decisions on how to approach new technical challenges, working both independently and in partnership with other developers and the wider cross-functional team. You are enthusiastic about new technologies, with a good understanding of AI solutions that you are keen to develop further. You thrive on solving problems, working iteratively and at pace, with a focus on meeting the requirements of the end user. You enjoy change and the challenge of working with both new technologies and new methodologies, adapting your approach accordingly.

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge., Joining us is your opportunity to pursue potential. You'll belong to a collaborative team that's exploring new and better ways to serve students, teachers and researchers across the globe - for the benefit of individuals, society and the world. Sharing our mission will inspire your own growth, development and progress, in an environment which embraces difference, change and aspiration.
