Full Job Description

Polam Hall School are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who can plan and implement an effective careers programme across the whole school, lead an effective and engaging programme of work experience and deliver independent careers and guidance. This role will also be part of the team raising aspirations and achievement for KS4 students, working with the to ensure that they are fulfilling their potential in order to access appropriate and ambitious next steps. If you are passionate about empowering the next generation to shape their futures and raise aspirations, then this is the role for you! The ideal candidate will be able to coordinate and network with external providers; have the skills and experience to support internal interventions and careers programmes; report and brief where required, school leaders and stakeholders and inspire our young adults to succeed beyond school life and education. You will be able to form positive and productive relationships with young people from a wide range of different backgrounds, helping them to achieve success and navigate the complicated Post-16 landscape. The Careers and Aspiration Leader will ensure compliance with the legal requirements to provide independent career guidance and ensure that Polam Hall School meets the Gatsby Benchmarks for careers education. This is an exciting and immersive role and can draw on skills from business and industry as well as from teaching, training and the education sector.

  • Have a good level of education at GCSE (or equivalent); have achieved a Level 3 qualification or higher and ideally a Careers / IAG qualification or willingness to achieve the accredited qualification.
  • Be a skilled practitioner with experience of working with young people.
  • Have a clear understanding of careers guidance across the eight Gatsby Benchmarks, ideally with experience of creating and delivering such programmes.
  • Be highly organised, have strong numeracy and literacy skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly to different settings and audiences.
  • Be committed to contributing positively to the futures of young people, inspiring, guiding promoting and advising with a relentless approach to success for all.

    Polam Hall School is a 4 - 16 all-through academy and is part of Woodard Academies Trust. We have 790 pupils on roll, with one and a half forms of entry in our Primary Phase and four forms in our Secondary Phase.
