Full Job Description
This role is a management focused role in the Assessment Data and Analytics team within the Assessment and Customer Support directorate. The job holder will lead a team of technical specialists to deliver regular business-critical work, and to define, plan and deliver project work. Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Defining and planning complex project work, including understanding technical solutions, communicating requirements to non-technical stakeholders and carrying out testing
- Configuring scheduled work for each live exam series, including reviewing and updating program code
- Leading on the scheduling and resourcing of the workload of the team, ensuring that schedules are met. This includes line management of three technical members of staff
- Maintaining, improving and updating procedures and creating and delivering training materials for activities managed in the team;
- Collaboration across the business to share skills and knowledge, and promote data science.
As a team manager, you should have a proven record of delivering business-critical data and analytics services within time-sensitive contexts through your team's efforts. Demonstrable examples of collaborating with various stakeholders are important. You will be responsible for identifying and solving problems and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. You will be confident in using statistical information. Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation using programming languages such as SAS, SQL, R, or Python is essential, along with familiarity with version control software. Experience with task management tools like GitLab, Jira, MS Planner, or similar, and knowledge of different project management methodologies are necessary. Experience in delivering induction and training, as well as effective communication skills, are essential. The ability to clearly convey technical information to both specialists and non-specialists, combined with a methodical approach and excellent attention to detail, will be critical to your success. - 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
