Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join the University of Manchester's Careers team. As a Career Consultant, your role will be to make an active contribution to the personal and professional development of our students and graduates delivering a high standard of skills and employability support to help them secure appropriate employment or further study. This role will be initially aligned to delivering activities across the Humanities faculty, although all staff will work collaboratively across the institution subject to the needs of the service.

You will be responsible for improving the Graduate Outcomes for an assigned caseload of students and graduates, working through year group, full programme and school/faculty activities. This will include working with academic colleagues to embed employability in the curriculum and the creation of bespoke, innovative careers activities. This role will also deliver high quality careers information, advice and guidance to students through online and face to face sessions for individual and group sessions. You will manage the careers provision for your area, including any individuals supporting the team and the allocation of tasks, setting of priorities and meeting of performance targets.

The Careers Service is located within our "Access, Student Employability, Success and Development" division, within the Directorate for the Student Experience. We are looking for candidates with experience and knowledge in the areas of careers and employability, graduate recruitment/training or learning and development, with a strong interest in and understanding of, delivering Higher Education careers and employability learning experiences to students. The successful candidate must have experience of working innovatively, collaboratively and flexibly, within a culture of continuous improvement.
