Full Job Description
Lead a dynamic team at the heart of academic publishing, delivering high-quality content with a global impact in a key leadership role that balances project oversight, financial management, and process improvements within a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment., As a Content Team Lead in our Academic division, you will manage a team of 7-10 Senior Content Managers and Content Managers, ensuring their training, development, and performance align with our goals. Overseeing the production of 250-450 titles annually, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality academic books in print and digital formats. You will:
- Drive team performance through effective line management, workload balancing, and ongoing training.
- Act as the main liaison for authors, editors, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery of projects.
- Directly manage or support complex, high-value projects while monitoring the overall team portfolio.
- Oversee annual budgets, managing costs, contracts, and financial processes.
- Continuously refine workflows and processes through data analysis and cross-departmental collaboration to ensure operational excellence.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated leader with a passion for delivering exceptional results in academic publishing. You will bring to this role: - Proven line management experience, including performance reviews, team development, and workload management.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of publishing workflows, particularly in academic or professional book production.
- Financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control, with experience managing significant project spend.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to foster relationships with authors, colleagues, and suppliers.
