Full Job Description

As Director of Open Policy Development, you will lead our strategic engagement with senior decision-makers across universities, funding bodies, governments, and industry groups to advocate for and influence policies to develop a vibrant and sustainable open research ecosystem. Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external leaders, you will:

  • Represent Cambridge's open publishing strategy with university leaders and industry stakeholders, for instance cOAlition S, UKRI, the Publishers' Association and others.
  • Develop and roll out key policies on academic reward and recognition, financial transparency, and responsible open publishing.
  • Build strategic relationships with funding agencies, research institutions, and other key players to drive systemic change.
  • Contribute insights and thought leadership to refine Cambridge's open research strategy, ensuring sustainable growth and innovation.
