Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person who will lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive careers programme which aims to prepare our students to make choices and engage in their transition in further education, training and employment.

You will want to make a difference and be able to bring out the best in others, be approachable and articulate, organised and methodical and have excellent administration and IT skills.

It is essential that you will hold qualification in Careers Guidance and Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development or equivalent; have expert knowledge of legislation and guidance on careers, including the Gatsby Benchmarks, as well as holding GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths or equivalent.

Farlingaye High School is a popular and successful school, located in Woodbridge, a pleasant market town situated on the River Deben in Suffolk and just 7 miles from Ipswich. We are a creative school with excellent resources, lovely students and great results. Our most recent Ofsted report graded us Good with Outstanding features.

We are part of East Anglian Schools Trust (EAST) alongside Kesgrave High School, Bungay High School and Castle East School. The Trust have also recently welcomed Aldeburgh, Easton, Leiston, Saxmundham and Wickham Market Primary Schools. We are a Teaching School Hub partner, which allows us to improve teaching and learning on a continuous basis. We are committed to providing excellent staff opportunities through developing and promoting our staff and offering an excellent CPD and support programme for new staff. We are also extremely pleased to have launched our own teacher training provider: EAST SCITT. This allows us to award QTS and also QTS + PGCE Programmes within both Primary and Secondary schools.
