Full Job Description
To implement and evaluate the OFG Careers and Employability Strategy and education programme. Responsible and accountable for the delivery of the school's programme of career education as well as the facilitation of information, advice and guidance from the Regional Futures Advisor. To make sure that the school meets the Gatsby Benchmarks as well as other assorted Legislative responsibilities.,
- Supporting the teaching staff, administrators, external partners and others who deliver careers education.
- Advising the senior leadership team on policy, strategy and resources for career guidance and showing how they meet the Gatsby Benchmarks.
- Reporting to senior leaders, regional future's advisors and governors.
- Reviewing and evaluating career guidance and providing information for school development planning, Ofsted, Compass Plus assessments and other purposes.
- Preparing and implementing a career guidance development plan and ensuring that details of the careers programme are published on the school's website.
- Understanding the implications of a changing education landscape for career guidance, eg technical education reform.
- Preparing Aspirations day activities.
- Linking in with various careers related weeks such as National Careers Week and National Apprenticeship Show.
- Discussing individual student's destinations with parents/carers and staff members where required.
- Evidence gathering for Ofsted and yearly OFG audits.
- Writing/updating careers related policies
- Completing regular CPD and Business Networking
- Skills Mapping using internal tools
