Full Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our office in either Derby or Shoreham, supporting our Rail division. This position plays an integral role in developing and fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment, that seeks to deliver accurate, relevant, timely and cooperative reporting and integrated support to the operational and enabling functions.

Role Objective

The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial operations of the region, ensuring reporting accuracy, compliance with regulatory and internal requirements, and effective internal controls.Provide business partner support as a strategic thinker with robust financial expertise and leadership capabilities to help drive financial performance and support growth initiatives.,

  • Provide Business Partner support to the regional senior leadership team through monthly reporting, forecasting, variance analysis and collaboration on strategic planning.

  • Supervise and mentor the finance team in a way that fosters a collaborative and high-performing environment, including the provision of training and development opportunities.

  • Responsible for the month end process, including timetable, reconciliations, project EAC approvals, revenue recognition, variance analysis and the performance native.

  • Manage project status reporting, including oversight of the project review process, accuracy of finish dates, billing plans, and forecasting.

  • Provide financial and commercial input and support for bidding and pricing, ensuring risk-assessed and commercially viable bids that enhance the likelihood of winning.

  • Manage and participate in Business Unit Reviews using the PSR details to process and validate YTD results and maintain a risk and opportunities register to support the result.

  • Responsible for working capital including forecasting., cash tracker and, AROC / Debtor improvement strategies.

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes , including working with the business to set targets and track performance to identify trends, risks and opportunities.

  • Provide Senior Management oversight on all Internal and External Audits incorporating the internal governance requirements

  • Review and approve the statutory and group reporting requirements including oversight of the intercompany, transfer pricing and cross charging process.

  • In conjunction with the Finance Director, drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems, and share the knowledge and expertise more broadly as required.
