Do you have a genuine interest in working with care experienced young people helping them build brighter futures?, As a senior Careers and Guidance Advisor in our team, you will play a pivotal role in the education, employment and training needs of our Care Experienced Young People. This is a unique opportunity to empower vulnerable young people, providing them with the care and guidance they need to thrive, whilst supporting them with future opportunities which would help them build on them independence. As a restorative practice local authority, we have a high support high challenge environment and a commitment to delivering an excellent service to our Care Experienced young people. The role involves:
- Supporting young people in gaining EET roles.
- Running 3 careers drop ins a week with the support of the Careers and Guidance Advisors.
- Preparing reports for Senior Leadership in relation to our EET figures.
- Working with Personal Advisors to create pathway plans tailored to Young Peoples, immigration, education, health, employment, housing, cultural, and personal needs.
- Regular 1-1s with the Career and Guidance Advisors, Qualified - Level 6 in Careers Guidance / or work history equivalent.
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people.
- Culturally aware, empathetic, and sensitive to the unique needs of care experienced and asylum-seeking children.
- Able to build trusting relationships with young people and advocate effectively on their behalf.
The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
