  • Watch me while at home while I'm in the garden or around the house
  • Provide support with outings
  • Driving our automatic car in case my mum is unwell
  • Joining us at the pool, so you should be a confident swimmer
  • Potentially joining us on, an all-expenses paid, holidays
  • Doing the occasional school run if my mum is unwell

    I am an 11-year-old boy looking for a kind, patient and open-minded carer who is willing to learn about and support me. While at home, I need someone to look after me for a few hours while my mum works or does household chores. However, I also need someone to provide support with outings. You will need to have a driving license and be comfortable with driving an automatic car as you may have to do the occasional school run if my mum is unwell. You should also be a confident swimmer as you will be joining us at the pool! We are a busy household and have one cat, so you will need to comfortable around animals. With the right person, we hope to develop a level of trust where you can join us on holidays, although this will not be mandatory. On the occasions when we are out and I need to go home or for a drive to calm me down, you may need to stay with my older sister. Once we get to know each other better, you may be asked to stay with me instead during these situations., Must be able to drive an automatic car
  • Should be fit enough to keep up with me and safely support me when swimming

  • Have a safe restraint qualification/training
  • Good communication skills and able to communicate effectively in English
  • An open mind and a willing to learn about my conditions and needs
  • Must respect our family's privacy. This means not taking or sharing photos of our children, family, home or garden.

  • Experience working with non-verbal children on the autistic spectrum
  • Knowledge of Makaton PECS
  • Experience with intensive interaction/play therapy

    Non-smoker ideally. However, if you do smoke then you will be asked to do so outside as my mum has asthma
  • Summary terms and conditions
  • Hours, days and times of work:
  • o 10 hours available per week during term time o 30 hours available per week during school holidays o We are happy to work around your schedule and accommodate each other
  • Pay rate: £11.44 per hour
  • Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).
  • Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
  • Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
  • Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
