We are seeking a compassionate and experienced individual to join our Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIPS) Service as a Carer Peer Support Worker. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting families and carers of individuals experiencing psychosis., As a Carer Peer Support Worker, you will:
+ Provide emotional, practical, and informational support to carers.
+ Facilitate carer support groups and build a strong carer network.
+ Collaborate with the EIPS team to enhance support for carers.
+ Contribute to service development and improvement.
+ Advocate for the needs and perspectives of carers., + Share and discuss common experiences with families and carers.
+ Build strong relationships with families and carers, developing trust and rapport.
+ Act as a coach and mentor, providing information about support services.
+ Collaborate with EIPS Family Intervention Workers to support carer groups.
+ Identify and strengthen partnerships between families/carers and service providers.
+ Advise and facilitate carer participation in the Family Inclusive Training program.
+ Develop and facilitate a Families and Carers Network.
+ Represent carer views and needs to internal and external stakeholders.
+ Develop links with other carer support organizations.
+ Participate in professional supervision, evaluation, and audit activities.

The nature of our work attracts kindness and compassion as standard and everyone from our cleaners and porters to the chief executive and chairman are recognised as playing a vital role in providing an exemplary service., A Family Peer Support Worker is a vital role dedicated to providing emotional, practical, and informational support to family members, carers, and supporters of individuals experiencing mental health challenges, particularly psychosis. This role leverages the worker's lived experience of caring for someone with psychosis to create a supportive and understanding environment for service users.
Main Responsibilities
+ One-to-One Support: Delivering individualized support to family members, focusing on their emotional well-being, practical coping strategies, and navigation of the mental health system.
+ Strength-Based Approach: Empowering families by focusing on their strengths and tailoring support to their unique needs and goals.
+ Community Building: Organizing and facilitating group activities, wellness days, and information evenings to foster connections among families and reduce feelings of isolation.
+ Service Navigation: Providing guidance and support to families as they engage with adult mental health services.
+ Advocacy: Championing the needs of families and carers within the mental health system to improve service delivery and inclusivity.
+ Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within the Trust's electronic clinical record system.
+ Caseload Management: Effectively managing a caseload of clients, prioritizing needs, and scheduling appointments.
+ Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for families.
+ Community Engagement: Building relationships with community organizations to enhance service delivery and access to resources.

+ Proven experience in supporting carers of individuals with mental health conditions.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Ability to build rapport and trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills.
+ Passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others., + Lived experience of caring for a loved one with psychosis.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong IT skills and willingness to learn new systems.
+ Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
+ Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to travel within a large geographical area.
