Dover Grammar School for Girls is an Outstanding Grammar School which fosters excellent academic standards combined with a strong and caring community. We are a diverse and inclusive school community that prides itself on its commitment to high levels of staff and student wellbeing. Leaders at DGGS are supportive, open and approachable, and will go the extra mile to ensure staff feel they have an appropriate life-work balance.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Caretaker, to join our successful and dedicated Site department and assist in the efficient and smooth running and security of the school facilities as well as taking responsibility and having pride in the appearance of the school and its grounds
Dover Grammar School for Girls is a highly successful, friendly, and supportive school. Staff, students, parents and visitors frequently comment on the strength of the community spirit, and the school enjoys a very positive reputation in the local area. Students are encouraged to be aspirational, to develop a lifelong love of learning, and to become well-rounded, happy and fulfilled young people.
Judged Outstanding by Ofsted, the school has also been nationally recognised for the quality of its results.
We are over-subscribed most years, being the first school of choice for parents in the area seeking an academic education for their daughters. Boys are accepted into the sixth form.
The schools vision is Building Character, Fostering Respect and Achieving Success. There is a strong tradition of pupils continuing their education to degree-level, with many gaining places at Russell Group universities and Oxbridge.
The school offers a wide and diverse range of extra-curricular activities, including lunchtime clubs, sporting events, dance and drama performances, and European exchange visits. Students are given many opportunities to develop as well-rounded individuals, keen to make a positive contribution to society through their chosen career path. Strong pastoral support is provided for all pupils at every stage of their education to make sure they can meet the challenges of growing up in a world which is changing rapidly.
