Caretaker / Handyperson

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the building and site are secure, safe and able to meet our high standards of safeguarding. Main duties will include:
• Ensure the building and site are secure
• Act as a designated key holder
• Winter gritting and path clearing
• Cleaning areas within the school
• Painting and redecorating
• Managing hygiene and cleaning stock in all areas of the school
• Carry out maintenance of the indoor and outdoor area, daily health and safety checks and regular fire safety checks
• Undertake repairs across the school site where possible
• Report defects and faults
• Utilise skills and own abilities to carry out repair work where possible
  
  Due to the retirement of the current postholder, The Governing Body wishes to appoint a full time Caretaker to join our caring and friendly school. We are looking for someone who is reliable, motivated, has good communication skills and can work flexibly to meet the needs of the school., The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post., We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and, if successful, you will need to apply for an enhanced DBS disclosure.
