Full Job Description

Customer Services Agent (ULD Control) Swissport Heathrow are looking for enthusiastic team members to join our Cargo Operation. Providing support to the cargo function including the processing of ULDs in accordance with IATA and airline regulations, physical preparing of ULD equipment for movement, airwaybill/flight processing, customs clearance, cash invoicing, basic reception duties and occasional support to other areas in the warehouse. Responsibilities: JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The following responsibilities are associated with this job role:

  • Basic Customs Clearance Process
  • Cash Invoicing
  • Acceptance of high value goods such as radioactive goods, live animals or dangerous cargo.
  • Full Customs Awareness
  • Reception duties including but not limited to greeting clients and visitors, answering telephone queries, sorting post, filing etc.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation as well as airport authority and carrier security requirements
  • Comply with Swissport Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  • Operate any necessary machinery
  • Support/Mentor/Buddy colleagues
  • Specialist airline systems & processes
  • Providing communication and documentary support to airlines, GSAs, freight forwarders and other company departments
  • Additional duties/requests deemed necessary by company management

    To be succesful in this role you will need to be or have:
  • In possession of at least three GCSE's or equivalent
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and public holidays)
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language
  • Ability to travel to the airport at times where public transport is not available
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must be IT literate and able to learn airline specific computer systems
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required
  • Willingness to work in inclement weather if required
  • Able to demonstrate good customer service
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Self motivated and able to work independently
  • Previous experience working in an aviation environment is desired
