As our Skills Coach - Carpentry and Joinery, you'll have the amazing opportunity to inspire, mentor, and guide the next generation of skilled tradespeople. What's in Store for You? In this dynamic role, you'll be the driving force behind our apprentices' success. You'll induct, coach, review, mentor, and track learners as they hone their skills both on-site at the college and in the field. Your mission? To help them reach distinction level in their apprenticeships and prepare them for a bright future in the workforce! What Will You Be Doing?

  • Empowering Apprentices: Provide tailored support and guidance to your caseload of apprentices, helping them unlock their full potential.
  • Delivering Excellence: Create engaging learning experiences through coaching and assessment that meet the high standards of awarding bodies and employers.
  • Tracking Progress: Use our innovative online e-portfolio system to keep a close eye on your apprentices' journey, ensuring they achieve all requirements for success.
  • Building Relationships: Foster strong connections with employers to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Personalizing Programs: Customize learning plans that meet the diverse needs of apprentices, helping them develop the essential skills and knowledge for their careers.
  • Integrating Skills: Embed maths and English into everyday learning to ensure apprentices excel not just in their craft but in their communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Team Spirit: Collaborate with a fantastic team to continuously improve and promote high-quality programs.

    A Level 3 or above qualification in carpentry and joinery (or equivalent).
  • Assessor qualifications (but don't worry if you don't have one; we're willing to help you get it!).
  • Experience in a relevant occupational area that lights your passion for teaching.
  • Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Funding rules and the Apprenticeship Levy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to inspire and connect with your learners.
  • A knack for technology with solid IT skills.
  • A willingness to travel to support apprentices wherever their journey takes them!
