Full Job Description

Bedford College, are currently recruiting for a Lecturer (Teacher) of Carpentry at our Bedford Campus. Lecturers at Bedford College, play a pivotal role in the success of our students by doing the following-

  • To prepare, deliver and assess subject specialisms on a range of courses, specifically focusing on Carpentry/Joinery to Level 3
  • To undertake course administration as necessary
  • To lead and contribute to curriculum developments within the Programme Area/Centre

    Ideal candidates will have experience of Joinery or Carpentry, alongside the following qualifications (full teacher training can be provided):
  • Recognised Teacher Qualification (PGCE, CertEd, QTS)
  • Carpentry/Joinery NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Stage 3 teaching qualification (Cert. Ed/ PGCE or equivalent)
  • Willingness to achieve Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent if not already held
  • English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
  • Willingness to work towards Assessor/Verifier qualifications (A1/V1) if not already held

    Bedford College has a number of sites across the town and surrounding areas, these include our main Cauldwell Street campus in the heart of the town, our hair and beauty salon on the High Street, the advanced automotive centre on Brunel Road and the gas and technology plumbing centre in Kempston.
