Full Job Description

Before installation, assess the site to determine the condition of the subfloor.

Accurately measure the installation area to determine the quantity of carpet material required.

Prepare the subfloor by cleaning, leveling, and repairing it as needed.

Cut and trim the carpet to the exact dimensions of the installation area, ensuring it fits precisely and neatly.

Lay the carpet, ensuring it is correctly positioned and stretched to prevent wrinkles, creases, or unevenness. Secure the carpet along the edges and tuck it into corners.

Ensure patterns match correctly across seams and sections for a cohesive appearance.

Finish the edges of the carpet using techniques like binding, edging, or taping to prevent fraying and enhance durability.

Maintain clear and effective communication with clients to discuss carpet choices, installation options, and any specific requirements or preferences.

Provide maintenance services such as carpet cleaning, patching, or repairing damaged carpets as requested by clients.

Properly care for and maintain tools and equipment to ensure they function efficiently and safely.

Adhere to safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment.

Keep accurate records of measurements, carpet specifications, installation details, and any client-related information for billing and warranty purposes.
