Full Job Description

Coralie sustained loss of all but her right thumb from an early age and has a mild brain injury. She is an intelligent and fun-loving person who struggles with anxiety, can be low in mood and has difficulty sustaining her motivation. You will be taking direction from the Case Manager to ensure that Coralie receives all the support she needs. She will require assistance with daily routines, housework, and organising to include assisting with her sons routine (Her son was born in 2019). You will be required to look after her son when she goes out to her dance classes, nights out etc., Our Case Managers work closely with our Clients, and we carry out all the recruitment processes on behalf of our Clients; and will support you, from your initial telephone interview right through to arranging employer interviews, trial shifts and placement.

If you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection. However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role. Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.

  • Experience/understanding of mental health issues and/ or brain injury and/or youth work.

  • Confident about working in client's own home and sensitive to the (sometimes conflicting) wishes of both the client and her parent.

  • Comfortable to be around dogs, rabbits and horses and be willing to work with animals.

    Days & Hours: A minimum of 20 hours per week to be worked flexibly from Monday - Sunday in accordance with the client's needs. Generally the shifts will be 5pm-10pm. (5 out of 7 days). You may be asked to provide occasional cover for sleeping nights and weekend day shifts, should the need arise this will be discussed and planned in advance.
    Pay: £13.50 per hour, Monday - Sunday. £50 per Sleeping Night, Monday - Sunday
    Driver required? Essential
    Driving Client's Car? There may be a need to drive your own car and the client drives her own car
    Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, On duty and to attend training
    Essential: Experience/understanding of mental health issues and/or brain injury and has childcare experience
    Desirable: Shares similar interests with Coralie.
    Family Pets: 2 dogs, a gecko and a rabbit
    Interviews Week Commencing: As and when applications are received, could be held by video calling
    Start Date: ASAP (subject to satisfactory employment checks)

    Coralie, born in 1996, is a chatty and fun person to be around. She is very kind and considerate and a great singer! Coralie loves spending time with family and being around her animals and friends. She enjoys days out with her family, going to the gym, dancing, going shopping and cooking her favourite meals.,
