An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Dudley Group as a key part of our Accounts Receivable Department within the Finance Department based at Russell's Hall Hospital.
Our Finance Department has recently received the Future Focussed Finance (FFF) Accreditation Level 1 and is currently working towards Level 2.
The Accounts Receivable Team is responsible for securing the clinical and non-clinical income for the Trust, its subsidiary company Dudley Clinical Services Limited and its charity Dudley Group NHS Charity by communicating with colleagues to ensure all information is obtained in a timely manner to enable prompt invoice raising for services provided.
Working as part of the Cashiers team, you will provide a helpful point of contact for patients, visitors and staff at the hospital. You will make a positive contribution towards an atmosphere that ensures the needs of patients and visitors are dealt with fairly, embedding The Dudley Group values.
The role will require being office-based, located at Russells Hall Hospital., + Take the lead role for receiving, counting, checking and preparing for banking all monies received
+ Receipting of all income including but not limited to, cash, cheques, credit card transactions and on line receipts, including the issue of receipts and thank you correspondence
+ Allocation of appropriate income to debtor accounts within the Integra Sales Ledger
+ Uploading of bank statement data, and reconciliation of transactions within the Integra Cash Management system.
+ To act as the focal point for all visitors at the General Office window
+ Record Patients Property including cash and valuables for Russells Hall Hospital. To complete patients property documentation in accordance with Trust procedure and request payments for payments upon discharge
+ Issue petty cash together with patients travelling expenses in accordance with the NHS Hospital Travel Costs Scheme and the Trust Standing Financial Instructions, maintaining the petty cash system
+ Process and record applications for Trust Car Parking Value and Concessionary administration by cards
+ To issue follow up unpaid prescription debts, securing payments, and escalating where this is not achieved
+ To record, analyse and input data using Microsoft applications as appropriate
+ To liaise with other departments as necessary in the undertaking of the role

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The scope of the role will involve the following:
+ Input data, from internal and external sources, into the Trust and Charity computerised systems and provide standard reports.
+ Provide support and information to the Accounts Receivable Manager. Responding to routine queries from staff, donors and customers as required.
+ Ensure that Trust and Charity policies, procedures and financial timescales are maintained.
+ Plans own daily workload, with effective scheduling of priority tasks. Works with little direct supervision, referring more complex queries to the Manager.
+ Administration of monthly ward safe collections in accordance with the Trust Patients Property and Money Policy
+ Collection of income from remote locations outside the General Office, including but not limited to, the Pharmacies and Ultrasound Department.
+ Reimbursement of floats for petty cash and stamp stocks held outside the General Office, in accordance with Trust procedures and Standing Financial Instructions.
