AO Arena is one of the busiest venues in the world and the largest indoor arena in Europe. Attracting over one million visitors each year, the 21,000 capacity Arena has hosted the biggest names in live entertainment including U2, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Pavarotti and the record-breaking 2010/2011 residency by local comedian Peter Kay. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Box Office department working on a casual event driven basis. Customer service is at the heart of everything we do and we are looking for team players that can make a positive contribution to the overall customer experience. We welcome applicants who take pride in their work, have a positive friendly attitude and possess excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for

  • Responsible for the day to day selling of tickets using the venue booking system.
  • Processing of bookings for accessible seating and disabled customers, both in person and by telephone.
  • Answer customer enquiries accurately and politely with regards to events and venue information and any other relevant details.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of computer software, including the venue ticketing system (training will be given)
  • Deal with all methods of payment, accurately and efficiently.
  • Answer telephone calls, both public and internal, and take messages if necessary, ensuring they are passed to the relevant person.
  • Have an understanding of the AO Arena Manchester and the seating layouts.
  • Serve customers on event days/evenings and weekends, dealing with ticketing issues as they arise.
  • Any other tasks as requested by the Box Office Management.

    Experience of box office/events work desired.
  • Smart appearance and good presentation.
  • Excellent written, telephone and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of providing excellent customer care.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good administration skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Flexible approach to working patterns including evenings, weekends and bank holidays in line with business requirements.
