| Salary £12.45 per Hour | Casual hours per week | Casual Driver, Burnley International Sponsorship - this role is not open to international sponsorship The core value of Integrated Transport Services is to competitively provide high quality transport services which meet the County Council's Corporate Objectives / Commitments and its approach to 'sustaining excellence'. These are Casual Driver posts working on our LCC Travelcare vehicles covering for contracted drivers who are on annual leave or off work sick. Most of the vehicles are parked at The Network 65 Business Park off Junction 9. The successful applicants will collect the vehicles at 7am and then go to collect the Passenger Assistant that will work with them. You will then collect all the children and take them to school and after that you will collect Adults and take them to their Day Centres. You will finish at about 10.30am then you will do the same in the afternoon, but you will take the passengers ,home. The afternoon shift is usually around 2.30pm to 5pm The purpose of this job is to transport and assist passengers with disabilities and sensory impairments in a safe, caring, professional manner

  • Transporting passengers in a safe and caring manner
  • Providing care duties associated with transport services. For example, assisting passengers to prepare for the journey and to and from and on and off the vehicle and ensuring passengers are safe and comfortable when on the vehicle
  • Ensuring passengers reach their destination / activity safely on group trips
  • Working as a team with the Passenger Assistant (where one is provided) in the delivery of the service
  • Operating the vehicle passenger lift to enable passengers to board and alight from the vehicle
  • Ensuring the safe application of seatbelts, wheelchair clamps and straps and other specialist equipment
  • Carrying out vehicle checks, fuelling and cleaning as required by Integrated Transport procedures
  • Completion of records as required by Integrated Transport procedures
  • Undertaking other driving and attendant duties as and when required The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013).
