Full Job Description
An opportunity has arisen to join the Community Response Service within Adult Services as a Casual Emergency Control Room Operator. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who can prioritise and can react calmly to emergency situations, to work within this team.
The Community Response Service provides a 24 hour, 365 days per year emergency response service to vulnerable people living within the borough of Tameside. The service responds to a variety of emergency situations and liaises with a wide range of other agencies as dictated by individual circumstances, including Emergency Planning the Council's first response to incidents and emergencies and in cases supplying and monitoring numerous Telehealthcare devices.
About You
You will work as part of a team within the Community Response Service under the direction of the supervisor, to provide a 24-hour, 365-day call centre service by being responsible for receiving emergency calls from internal and external agencies, taking appropriate action and recording all calls received.
You will complete an induction and be offered the relevant training and support to develop techniques and skills to respond to vulnerable service users.

This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English.
